The Millennium Project seeks to create a better
world for coming generations by taking an independent, comprehensive
look into the future.
The Project is a worldwide think tank
comprising more than 1,650 futurists, scholars, business leaders,
scientists and policy makers spread across 50 countries and drawn from
a range of international organisations, governments, private
corporations, NGOs and universities.
Through early alert and
analysis of long-range issues, opportunities and challenges, it aims to
equip decision makers with tools to plan now for a better tomorrow and
to foster a global approach to thinking about the future.
The
Millennium Project manages a global participatory system that
continually collects, synthesises and feeds back judgments about
prospects for the human condition. The annual State of the Future report is the culmination of this process.
The
Australian node of the Millennium Project operates under the auspices
of the Futures Foundation. The node facilitates regional input
and seeks to apply an Australian context to the global issues
identified in the State of the Future report.
